Steve Benson

As a student of fine art and architecture in the 1970s, Steve found his focus in the discipline of Architectural Woodworking. He founded his company in Boston in 1978 and won local recognition for craftsmanship and innovation, as noted in a Boston Globe article of 1984. In 1988, Steve was awarded a merit certificate by the Boston Society of Landscape Architects. He engineered the wood components for the line of Zone VI large-format field cameras, and produced them for many years.

Working With Us

Estimating Costs

To start an estimate for custom doors or windows, we need to talk to you about the styles, quantities, and sizes of the doors and windows you’ll be ordering. We will also need you to specify certain options such as hardware finish, glazing type, wood species, screens, and any other important requirements.

The Design Process

We work with your architect and builder to coordinate aesthetic details with practical design considerations. We can send CAD drawings electronically to expedite the design approvals. Click here for samples of the many drawings we have prepared for clients. Please click on the PDF link if you would like to see it in a larger size.

Finally, we will need to know when you’ll need your products ready. Since all our work is custom-made, your order cannot be shipped from stock, but we will work closely with you to meet your delivery dates.
